Zeroconf meets Nexenta...

Erast writes "Avahi is a system which facilitates service discovery on a local network. This means that you can plug your laptop or computer into a network and instantly be able to view other people who you can chat with, find printers to print to or find files being shared.

It is now integrated into NexentaOS and found to be in a good shape now. The integrational effort includes many applications to be re-compiled/re-tested with avahi or howl backends enabled. Such applications as Rhythmbox and Gobby already tested. See screenshots in the article."
