CNet reports that the FBI released more information about their Carnivore email wiretapping software on Thursday. The article says the new information shows that Carnivore does more then the FBI earlier claimed, but neglects to mention what it is that the FBI said.

SCO-Caldera deal brings high-end features to Linux

“Linux will acquire features better suited for high-end use as a result of Caldera Systems’ pending acquisition of technology assets from Santa Cruz Operation. Linux is gradually growing up, acquiring features of the Unix operating system on which it’s based and that SCO sells. One of the features it’s still missing, though, is “clustering,” which variously means one computer can take over for another that fails or that a job can be shared among a number of servers in a group.” From a report at CNET News.com.

ICANN approves new domain names

CNET News.com reports that ICANN has approved seven new top level domain name suffixes, including .biz, .aero, .name .coop, .info, .pro, and .museum. The new names are expected to be available in 2001.

Plex86 runs Windows 95
