ZDNet reports “Microsoft released a Web traffic report Thursday that showed its MSN site beating rival Yahoo in the contest for top search engine, a ranking that was immediately disputed by the Web portal.”

DOJ supports dismissal of Felten case

Slashdot has an item saying the U.S. Department of Justice is asking for a dimissal of the case where a Princeton professor is suing it and the SDMI for trying to silence his research by using the DMCA. The DOJ doesn’t think the case presents significant First Amendment issues, apparently. The DOJ memorandum is at EFF.org (in PDF format).

Mozilla Milestone 0.9.5 browser suite released

Mozilla 0.9.5 browser ready for try-outs. MozillaQuest Magazine (MozillaQuest.com) reports: “The Mozilla Organization released a very buggy Milestone Mozilla 0.9.5 edition of its Mozilla browser-suite today, on schedule. [It] is cross-platform and open source. Builds are available for the BSD, Linux, Macintosh, Microsoft Windows, OS/2, Sun, and several UNIX platforms. Source code is available if you want to custom compile your own Mozilla Milestone 0.9.5 build.”
