On a whim, Owens began experimenting with the open source operating system Linux, whose mascot is a pleasant, pudgy penguin. He immediately felt an affinity with the operating system and the dedicated volunteer developers who tend it. “It’s technology with love in it,” Owens says. Since then, he has woven Linux into every facet of his personal and professional life.
