The Univention App Center, which currently provides more than 75 business solutions, integrated the first Docker-based third-party app – the professional business software TecArt.
Thanks to the Docker container technology TecArt is operated in an isolated container and can thus be operated without interfering with other applications in the same server environment. This Docker encapsulation allows TecArt to meet the specific requirements on essential software libraries and their versions via the App Center without any complex maneuvers or additional efforts.
Univention and TecArt enjoyed working together on this project and Univention sees the Docker technology as a good possibility for further software producers to make their solutions available without conflicts.
