One Laptop Per Child is a famous project to get laptops into the hands of millions of third world children. There has been a pervasive desire here in the developed world to get ones for our use as well – the thinking being that a $100 laptop has to be worth the price, since the price is so low! I wrote this morning that some of these laptops are finally in the hands of children in Nigeria, and that I would love to play around with one. Little did I know then that I would get my chance this afternoon at the Maker Faire in San Mateo. I played with an XO machine for about a half an hour, and took a few photos (click on any image to get a bigger version)…
