WhatsApp Shown Running on Samsung’s Z1 Tizen Smartphone

Samsung first-ever Tizen smartphone, the Z1 has gained a mythical status. The handset has been announced, delayed, cancelled, brought back from the dead only to make itself scarce again.

At this point, we’re not exactly sure whether this handset will ever make it out into the sunlight, albeit some sources indicated January 18 as a possible date.

Systemd and Upstart Comparison and Usage on Ubuntu 15.04 Detailed in Great New Wiki

The adoption of systemd in Debian has caused quite a ruckus, but it has other ramifications. For example, Ubuntu will soon use systemd by default, most likely in Ubuntu 15.04. The community has put together a great wiki page that explains the differences between upstart and systemd and how you use it right now.

Linux Kernel 3.19 RC4 Is Right on Time

Linux kernel 3.19 RC4 has been released by Linus Torvalds and it looks like this is one of the few versions made available in the past year or so that will arrive on schedule and without any drama.

When you’re talking about the Linux kernel, the word drama has different connotations. In this case it usually means that some last-minute problems delayed an RC or that some release candidates were a little too big for Linus’ preferences. In any case, the current iteration of the kernel seems to b… (read more)

Set up Nova-Docker on OpenStack RDO Juno on top of Fedora 21

Quote ([1]]) :-

The Docker driver is a hypervisor driver for Openstack Nova Compute. It was introduced with the Havana release, but lives out-of-tree for Icehouse and Juno. Being out-of-tree has allowed the driver to reach maturity and feature-parity faster than would be possible should it have remained in-tree. It is expected the driver will return to mainline Nova in the Kilo release.

How to make SLD64 transit longer distance than SFD64?

As we know, Huawei SFD64 is updated version of SLD64, for its transmission distance is further than SLD64.

Technically, in Huawei SDH transmission boards, SFD64 can transit longer than SLD64 in normal condition, but when you use DWDM color interface into SLD64, it can transit longer than SFD64. For when SFD64 with SFP or XFP, it can transit 40km, but when SLD64 equiped with DWDM color interface module, it has two options, 40km and 80km, which based on your maximum demand.

Phonebloks is Building a Modular Smartwatch That You Can Customize Any Way You Want
